Our extensive competition program can get them there.
Our competition dance program is for those who see themselves as future stars of the dance industry. With over 100 dancers serious about their craft, it is one of the most well-respected programs in Ohio. Competition dancers attend at least three regional competitions per year and one national competition every other year.
Our company dancers attend dance conventions and masterclasses taught by top-tier professionals throughout the year to learn new styles, work on technique, and connect with leading choreographers and teachers in the dance industry.
The real proof of our program is in what our dancers have accomplished through their hard work. Hundreds of CSDS dancers have been awarded scholarships from dance conventions to train at professional dance studios in New York City and Los Angeles.
We have helped many students audition and earn their place as dance majors at schools such as New York University, SUNY Purchase, Marymount Manhattan, Point Park University, Pace University, University of Arizona, University of the Arts, The Ohio State University, and more! Several of our alumni students live in Los Angeles working as professional dancers, signed with top dance agencies. We have even had dancers go on to have careers on Broadway and television!
If students wish to pursue a career in dance, Center Stage Dance Studio has the resources and knowledge to help them achieve that goal.
To be considered for competition groups, dancers must start by attending our Company Camp which takes place in the summer for four weeks. Company Camp runs five days per week, broken up into different age groups. Dancers may attend 1-2 days per week and take a full day of classes in all styles.
They learn combinations in Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, and Tap and use these combinations to audition for various group genres of their choosing. Company Auditions take place during the final two weeks of Company Camp. Dancers fill out a Company Audition Form to detail the number of groups, styles, and competitive levels that they would like to be considered for. Read about our three competitive levels below:

Company
Ages 5 & Up
Our Company program is for experienced dancers looking to perform on stage and work as a group to reach new heights as dancers. Being a Company dancer means committing to all other dancers on our team. Hard work and attendance are very important factors when competing for Center Stage. Our Company program is ideal for our younger dancers or older dancers who may be unable to make a larger commitment to dance because of other sports/activities. It is also the most financially viable option for many families.
Elite
Ages 8 & Up
Our Elite Company program is for experienced competition dancers who are looking to push themselves and progress at a faster pace. On top of our regional competitions, these dancers will attend two convention competitions with our studio and experience taking classes in all dance styles from some of the best teachers/choreographers in the country. Being an Elite Company dancer comes with increased responsibility and a larger commitment to Center Stage.
Pre-Pro
Ages 12 & Up
Our Pre-Pro Program is designed to give serious dancers the tools to continue dancing after high school in a college dance program, dance team, or professional dance career. These dancers learn about college dance programs and the various professional dance industries. They work on creating their own choreography and gain information on injury prevention, healthy nutrition, resume building, and much more. This group works closely with some of the best choreographers in the country.
