This past weekend, our Pre-Pro dancers attended Press Play in Detroit for the very first time, and they absolutely blew us away!

Our dancers consistently showcased professionalism, determination, and incredible teamwork. They pushed themselves in class and on stage, and supported one another every step of the way. Watching them rise to the occasion made us so proud!

The caliber of competition was on another level, with incredible studios from the U.S. and Canada. All six of our group dances received the Top of the Chart award - the highest adjudication, and five of our group routines placed in the top three overalls, with two of them winning 1st overall in their divisions!

On top of winning 1st Overall Senior Soloist, our own Sean Detwiller was chosen as the winner of the Battle for the Belt Improv Competition at the end of the weekend! We had Featured Artist Runner-Ups in all four age divisions, and ended with seven Featured Artist Winners!

Our teachers selected Maura Matuska as Company Dancer of the Weekend for her willingness to take on challenges and perform her very best under pressure. Maura approached the weekend with focus, confidence, and resilience, and her hard work truly stood out. We are so proud of the way she represented herself and our studio!

Overall, we had an amazing first experience at Press Play. The energy, faculty, and atmosphere created a motivating environment for our dancers. We can’t wait to return in the future!
